I've noted it before- Chad asked my dad for my hand in marriage on Christmas, proposed on New Year's day, we were married on Valentine's and each one of my kids have been born on some sort of holiday. It may be stretching it a bit, but Felicity was born on Friday the thirteenth. It was also the 10 year anniversary of the huge ice storm of 2007. Those have novelty, right??
The "laboring" process was actually quite enjoyable on this baby. Chad, along with my friend Arielle (who was so gracious & photographed our birth) were good company and the conversation was so entertaining. And of coarse, I had my favorite nurse Rindi there, who always makes my day. This is how things unfolded-
6:30ish- They start me on pitocin at a dose of 2. I'm dilated to a 4 & baby is sitting low.
7:30- My contractions are coming about every 2 1/2 minutes. They seem strong, but bearable. Still dilated to a 4.
9:30- Pitocin is now at a dose of 6. I get my epidural & feel so relaxed. Still a 4.
12:30ish- I feel a definite change. Lots of pressure. Rindi checks me and says I'm complete. They send away for Dr. Meents.
12:44- Felicity is born!
Meeting their new sister.
